Frequently Asked Questions

  • Why does the lubricant output time vary with ambient temperature?

The ambient working temperature range of the GREASOMATIC®, not the bearing temperature, is between +32°F and +104°F. The lubricant output duration is dependent on the rate of gas generation in the GREASOMATIC®.

The gas is produced by a chemical reaction when the adjustable galvanic element is injected into a mildly acidic electrolyte. This reaction decreases in colder ambient temperatures and increases in higher ambient temperatures.
